Connectors

Connect Citatra to your CMS and analytics platforms to publish content and enrich your visibility data.

Overview

Connectors link Citatra to external platforms in two categories: CMS connectors (for publishing AI-generated content) and Analytics connectors (for correlating your web analytics with AI visibility data). Both types are configured from Settings → Connectors in the left sidebar.

CMS Connectors

CMS connectors enable the Content Generator to publish articles directly to your website without copy-pasting.

WordPress

Required: WordPress REST API access (available on all self-hosted WordPress sites and WordPress.com Business plans and above).

To connect:

  1. In WordPress, go to Users → Profile and generate an Application Password.
  2. In Citatra, go to Connectors → WordPress and enter:
    • Your WordPress site URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com)
    • Your WordPress username
    • The Application Password you generated
  3. Click Test Connection to verify, then Save.

Once connected, you can set the default post category, author, and post status (draft is the default).

Webflow

Required: A Webflow site with a CMS Collection for blog posts or articles.

To connect:

  1. In Webflow, go to Project Settings → Integrations → API Access and generate an API token.
  2. In Citatra, go to Connectors → Webflow and enter your API token.
  3. Select the Webflow site and then the CMS Collection you want to publish to.
  4. Map the Citatra article fields (title, body, slug, published date) to your Collection's fields.
  5. Click Save.

Analytics Connectors

Analytics connectors import your web traffic and engagement data into Citatra, allowing you to correlate AI citation events with actual site visits — helping answer the question "is appearing in AI answers actually driving traffic?".

Supported Platforms

| Platform | Data imported | |---|---| | Google Analytics 4 | Sessions, pageviews, source/medium, events | | Mixpanel | Events, user properties | | Amplitude | Events, sessions | | Plausible | Pageviews, unique visitors, bounce rate | | Fathom | Pageviews, unique visitors | | Umami | Pageviews, sessions | | HubSpot | Contact form submissions, deal data | | Shopify | Orders, revenue (for e-commerce AI visibility) |

Connecting an Analytics Platform

Each platform uses OAuth or an API key:

  • OAuth platforms (GA4, HubSpot, Shopify) — click Connect and complete the OAuth authorisation flow in the pop-up window.
  • API key platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Plausible, Fathom, Umami) — paste your read-only API key or access token into the Citatra connector form and click Save.

Once connected, Citatra starts importing data within a few minutes. Historical data import range depends on the platform's API limits (typically 90 days).

Managing Connections

All active connections are listed on the Connectors page with their current status (Active, Error, Disconnected). Click any connection to view its last sync time, re-test the connection, edit credentials, or disconnect it.

ℹ️ Info

Credentials are encrypted at rest and never exposed after saving. If you need to rotate an API key or application password, use the Edit action to replace the stored credential.
